Could've been so much meliorate
I was excited to picket this film since it deals with a same-sex love story- something I oasis't seen in a mainstream bollywood movie. Merely I was disappointed. The concept, though good, fails in execution.
The main problem was Sonam Kapoor. She CANNOT deed. A role which could've pulled yous in, made you feel for her, for her struggles simply feels... meh. She doesn't empathise the nuances of the character, at that place is no honesty in her performance. It feels like she did the function just to exercise something "different." And that'due south a loss since she doesn't have the acting capability to shoulder a character like Sweety. I could easily name a dozen actresses who could accept played Sweety with conviction. The film is also tedious and the climax was a bit too dramatic.
The best part of the movie is the supporting cast. Be information technology Anil, the brother, the helpers, Regina, Juhi and the best- Rajkumar. Everyone puts their all-time foot forrad to delve in their characters. Simply since the limelight is on Sonam, only having a expert supporting cast doesn't solve the problem.

And so lovely, so innocent, feelgood and fresh! Often homosexual stories are depressed in nature, only this one is exception, information technology has a joyful vibes. Kudos to the makers. Music is also pleasuring, specially the title song. I really love all the roles Sonam played on screen with her loftier-school girl like cuteness! Sonam's lover played past Regina Cassandra has a very limited appearances but she nonetheless could steal Sonam's thunder, such a lovely face she has!

WHY IS SONAM KAPOOR Notwithstanding ACTING?
If you want to see how a single actor tin can completely bring a movie down then go for it. She just can't act. While watching the movie not even once does the audience feel what a girl who just came out of the closet would experience. It's really bad.

The motion picture fails to practise justice to the dear story it wants to narrate.

Ek Ladki ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, a moving-picture show by Shelly Chopra Dhar, comes up with a progressive topic. It is a love story with deviation. It is very important to make films on such plots, tell the stories to create more awareness in our social club, only Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga fails to do justice to the plot.
The title of the film does generate the beautiful moments of the film 1942: Dearest Story, in which this vocal turned out to exist a superhit, and it even so sounds so fresh even after 25 years. This song as well as the motion picture had wonderful chemical science of Anil Kapoor and Manisha Koirala on screen. Sweety is shown to be scared of her brother (Abhishek Duhan) who keeps an eye on her movements. Sahil and Sweety happen to meet past take chances in Delhi. Juhi Chawla plays the function of Chatro, a Chef and wannabe actress, with Sahil's squad. Sahil travels to Sweety's identify to explore beloved and write about the same for his play. Is Sahil in love with Sweety ? Is Sweety in beloved with Sahil or somebody else ? The story unfolds further but in admittedly disengaging and dispassionate way.
The only grace of the film is Anil Kapoor. Rajkummar Rao is such a wonderful actor, who generally puts so much life into the character he plays, but in this film, his role is very much understated. He does not accept much to exercise. It is strange that real father-daughter chemistry is likewise missing on screen. Seema Pahwa, Brijendra Kala, Kanwaljeet Singh have very less screentime. Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla have a few scenes on screen and supposed to generate humour, just it does not happen and so.
Ek Ladki ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga fails to exercise justice to the love story it wants to characterize, rather adopts a very apologetic, meek and non-assertive tone.

Much needed for Indian audience
A subject which has been curtailed and often been ridiculed has been showcased with full responsibility, maturity, sensibility, sincerely and with Dearest. In the subversive Indian society which has been hypocrite in a sense since the colonial era, it was necessary that a commercial movie starring some A-Listers and big product house forth with some peppy music and calorie-free intelligent humor was honestly presented. As someone who understands the challenges of curtailed freedom and moral policing in Indian society, one's heart will simply be grateful for this work.

Excellent movie
Kudos to the managing director and the cast for doing this moving picture. I am hoping this will set up the stage for future LGBT movies in Indian movie house. An important bulletin well conveyed in a light hearted manner with a practiced mix of emotions and comedy. I am glad they made this almost love and kept information technology classy. They introduced a sense of normalcy to this very taboo topic in India. Hopefully the hearts and minds of people will change after watching this very important film. Juhi Chawla was a delight to watch and she added the much needed lightness and humor to a very heavy subject field.

A brave attempt on an unconventional plot
The title is based on a song of Anil Kapoor in 1942 a dearest story where he is besotted by the beautiful heroine. Ironically here his daughter Sonam feels that way towards some other girl. Yes this movie is an effort to deal with same gender beloved though in a perfunctory fashion. A elementary film which is quite entertaining.

Shelly Chopra Dhar'south Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga poses a challenge to both critics and viewers. How much can the reviewer reveal about the plot, which unveils its large twist at the exact point at which yous are encouraged to shuffle out of the auditorium to the popcorn counter? And what does the average moviegoer make of the subversion of the soppy romance in which boy falls for girl and gets the prize afterward leaping over a serial of obstacles?
More than importantly, information technology can't get more delightfully destructive, for a movie which promises to upend the 'ladka-ladki' binary that Bollywood has coasted on for decades. Hither 'ek ladki'due south centre beats for another 'ladki'. What a pleasure it was to sentinel this movie! From the get- go, it promises to exist a fun movie and keeps up its promise till the end. Information technology is rare to encounter an entertaining comedy picture show with a potent message. It also holds your attending because a lot is revealed in slowly, so it keeps yous gripped wondering how the plot would unfold. Sonam Kapoor has outdone herself as a subdued Punjabi girl whose life is controlled by those around her, especially her brother. Her grapheme shows sparks of existence a happy -become -lucky ,vivacious girl merely her happiness is squashed at every stride and she has portrayed this brilliantly. Rajkumar's character is a delight to lookout. Anil Kapoor is his usual bouncy, Punjabi self - exactly what the role required. Other characters like Juhi and Sonam'south brother and the rest of the supporting bandage is on point. Some dialogues are hilarious and the comic timing of the all the characters is first-class. It is non at all a preachy motion picture simply brings up the subject of same gender honey in a very svelte fashion. A great entertainer and a must lookout!

EK LADKI KO DEKHA TO AISA LAGA REVIEW :-
"The Secret" this is what they told united states in trailer, right? But it was quite easy for movie buffs to predict the Secret. As expected, the secret is exactly what we were thinking, its about truthful honey crossing the barrier of gender. Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga tries to showcase the Dauntless Script of taboo discipline, just somewhere the Screenplay falters, if not fully. Withal, it was a "Well Tried" by the entire team.

Rajkumar Rao doesn't explore an actor in him Fully and that's unacceptable. Juhi Chawla goes unnoticed due to overacting, and so does the supporting cast. Anil Kapoor remains the one only saving grace here. Music is a let down, moreover it's irritating where the screenplay is already faltered. Execution is Strictly boilerplate and the reason for that is filmy vision of Manager. The script didn't really need whatever dramatic portion then why Manager went through that path? The total focus should take remained on content other than Feature moving-picture show ingredients, especially when you are attempting a Taboo breaking subject.
As a whole, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga is an Of import picture for the society only the trouble is, it is not made for everyone. Trivial India Directory Review: Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (3 Stars)
Everyone who's watched the trailer for Shelly Chopra Dhar's directorial debut, titled Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (ENG: Felt Like This When I Saw a Girl...) for namesake and for punning purposes, can predict what information technology is all most without any additional information. And that in itself should be a red flag for anyone who'southward interested in exploring the whole recipe, a banal little story masqueraded as a pithy taboo-breaker.

A Sensitive Upshot Handled Insensitively

The picture tries to handle the taboo bailiwick of lesbianism in a bourgeois Indian society and throws in Hindu/Muslim issue as a bonus but does so in a very puerile manner. Just a small-scale talk by a potential lover of male parent makes him change his mind almost his serious objections to letting his daughter marry a Muslim and likewise the same talk gives him backbone to get confronting his female parent who literally molded his life away from being a chef (wow!). And so a play which was just a replay of what had already transpired without any revelations makes him go along with a major tweaking of his values. If all this was not a nonchalant dealing of the serious field of study affair on mitt, the begetter says to girl "I idea you were like your Mom merely now I know y'all are more than like me - you like women"!!! How weird is that? The flow of the movie was uneven & patchy which reveals lack of experience on the part of the film crew. Overall the movie had no artistic or redeeming value except the acting of Juhi Chawla. Some of the audition were really angry that they were not cautioned almost not bringing their piddling daughters to the movie. This motion-picture show tarnishes the paradigm of VC Films.

Peachy movie, funny, feel skillful and groovy theme
Funny moments, brilliant actors and a love story, the moving-picture show has them all! Information technology portrays the topic so well that anyone would sympathise it. Its one of the must lookout movies of the year. The people have worked so hard on information technology and I hope people get more accepting later on watching such a feel good warm movie. :) :)

A commercial Bollywood flick handling this issue with delicacy and grace
Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga - 2019 - viii.5/10 - B-plus - "How I Felt When I Saw That Girl" the meaning of the championship which is also a very famous Bollywood song from 1994 from the movie 1942: A Love Story. We've got a commercial Indian film a romantic one-act here that'southward tackling the outcome of a girl falling in love with another girl. When it comes to social issues type Indian movies that're trying to preach tolerance and credence, it's ever hit or miss and I really didn't know what to await going in and I was actually pleasantly surprised. As far as sappy lovey dovey Bollywood musicals get, this ane handles a rather delicate subject with an unusual corporeality of tact and grace. I almost cried at a few points and that never happens to me during a commercial Indian film. Normally I'd give a motion-picture show like this a 7.5/10 - B-minus only given how groundbreaking this film is and how successfully it navigates walking into new territory, I'm giving it a full point extra bumping it upwardly to an eight.5/10 - B-plus. Well washed. Solid. Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Regina Cassandra starring with Shelley Chopra Dhar directing in a Vidhu Vinod Chopra production and similar many commercial Bollywood films, it's a "family unit friendly" picture show merely in this case information technology works to the picture show'south advantage.

What a brilliant concept. Its very overwhelming to encounter the concept of same gender dear on the big movie theatre and that too with and so many mouth of words. The movie is a complete jewel. All tje actors has done their job brilliantly.

Wearisome, Bad, Bad?
The acting is pathetic at best, you'd expect some talent merely they are brought down past the weak script. The dialogue is linear and bland and doesn't actually focus on the issues this movie is based upon.
Skip it, information technology's a fourth dimension waste at best.

Bollywood' Coming of Age
'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga' is the about apt and well used championship for a movie I've ever seen. The beautiful history of the original song and the new limerick and its meaning is incredible. The tagline reads: the about unexpected romance of the year. Year? A lifetime, I'd say. If you've seen the trailer I'k sure you lot accept an inkling of what the story will be nigh. I won't go into detail because I implore y'all to feel information technology for yourself. But I can guarantee you've never seen annihilation like this before.
A male parent is trying to become his daughter married. An unsuccessful writer is looking for inspiration. And a daughter is living with a life altering and defining underground. Information technology's all wrapped in traditional Bollywood attire. Dance numbers, a soothing beloved track, hilarious supporting characters, pop stars. The makers want everything to be the same wait the one thing. It's a commendable approach. You're shown a familiar world and are told to just open your eyes and heart a bit. Really, it doesn't take a lot.
Writer Gazal Dhaliwal and director Shelly Chopra Dhar have purposefully chosen a straightforward narrative which works to a cracking extent simply takes some time to get to the betoken. But I imagine that'southward by design because they desire you to know these people before making assumptions. Every bit such, the writing in the 1st half isn't every bit sharp and engaging every bit you'd like it to be since information technology'southward the interval indicate that really gets you. And fifty-fifty more and so considering they chose to come up together for this film.
Music is smartly integrated into the narrative and certain moments will surely haunt you. The visual of standing in a glass box looking outside but non beingness able to get out was heartbreakingly moving. How practice yous shatter lifelong prejudices, perceptions held by generations, and peoples' skewed views on what'southward right? An honest endeavour on a sensitive event
I cant understand why in that location is then much negativity most this movie. Why the rating is so low? It reminds me the last portion of the film where maximum audiences were leaving from the theater. Actually the makers knew information technology would happen. Honestly its a gem. The manager handles a sensitive topic with great care. The film mainly focused on the relationship between begetter & daughter and the acceptance of her sexuality. All the actors ( Sonam kapoor, Anil kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Juhi Chawla and more) are top notch. Kudos to all related to this picture for portraying the topic in universal manner. Till the all-time motion-picture show of 2019.
